Shopping intelligence
SimpleSaver started life back in November 2001 and was one of the first sites created by
Live Leads Limited, which owns and runs the site today. Back then, a lifetime ago for the internet, the SimpleSaver idea arose from an exchange of emails between two of Live Leads’ founders in which they would tell each other about the latest shopping bargains. Seeing there was no site on the net publishing such snippets of shopping intelligence, they decided to develop their own.
What started as a simple idea then has blossomed into a leader of its type today with many thousands of loyal users. Says co-founder Beverley, "We try to stay true to the original vision for the site – showing brilliant offers and deals, presented in a simple, categorised format." |

Thousands of SimpleSavers
"It’s always pleasing to think that thousands of people log on to the site each day and what they find there can really benefit them, " says Christine.
"People have a good experience and tell their friends - the growth we’ve enjoyed shows no signs of slowing so this is clearly a service people want."

Both Beverley and Christine continue to be fully involved in the running of SimpleSaver today. As Beverley says, “Once you’ve got used to professional bargain hunting it’s hard to stop – and anyway, I wouldn’t want to. I appreciate good value and, like anyone else, I want to know about offers on the things I’m interested in buying – whether as a mother or a businesswoman.”
These days, the site is frequently approached by major brands. Says Christine, "Compelling and relevant offers will always be effective - it suits our users and so it suits the brands to come and speak to us. Our job now extends to sorting out the best offers from brands that have approached us as well as researching them for ourselves. ”
What next?
So what's happening next? The new-look SimpleSaver site, launched January 2005, can now show offers in over 20 categories from over 200 providers, extending its service beyond the high street into areas like financial services, travel and holidays and office and business.
2005 also sees the introduction of SimpleSaver ‘Exclusive offers’.
Says Beverley, “… this is the next logical step to offer an even better service – we use our knowledge about what SimpleSavers are looking for to create and source great offers that can’t be found elsewhere.”
